The Story of fig+honey
Founded in Denver in 2015, fig+honey began as a simple passion project, born from long evenings spent making small batch chutneys and experimenting with cheese recipes while I worked toward a graduate degree in Social Work in southern India. What started as an exploration of flavor and craft quickly became something deeper: a way to connect people through food.
When I returned home, I continued my career as a social worker but never stopped creating in the kitchen. I made chutneys, cheeses, and eventually full charcuterie boards as gifts for friends and family. Each one was a celebration of community, of the shared moments that remind us how food can comfort, unite, and tell a story.
In March 2020, as the world slowed down, I received a simple request from a family member asking if I could make one of my charcuterie boards in a way that reduced contact. The answer came in the form of a box, carefully arranged, artfully composed, and perfectly portable. What began as a practical solution became an unexpected symbol of connection during a time of isolation.
The first fig+honey grazing box was posted online, and the response was immediate. People were craving more than food; they were craving togetherness. That moment revealed what I had always known: that food has the power to bring people back to one another.
From that spark, fig+honey grew into what it is today: a culinary experience designed to make life easier, gatherings more beautiful, and connections more meaningful. Each box is crafted with intention, inviting people to pause, savor, and share.
Influenced by my Eastern European and Mexican roots, our boards are layered with vibrant flavors, handmade elements, and locally sourced ingredients that celebrate both heritage and place. Every detail, from the way we fold the prosciutto to the selection of fruit and preserves, is an expression of care.
At fig+honey, we believe food is more than sustenance. It is storytelling, artistry, and the purest form of hospitality. Our mission is to create shared experiences that linger long after the last bite.
Smacznego! Bon Appetit! Buen provecho!
